Eddie Utility Dive

Every utility, big or small, dedicates time, energy and money to customer education. Through our survey, conducted in partnership with Utility Dive magazine, we discovered that although utility executives believe that their educational programs are important, only 7% would describe their programs as “great.”

One of the most powerful methods of community education is the K-12 school channel. When your utility delivers important messaging about energy efficiency, electrical and natural gas safety, water conservation and pollution, and other energy-related issues into schools in innovative ways, students get excited about these important topics. And since kids are a huge influence on their parents, when they take your information home, their parents – your customers – pay attention. Take a look at the latest video in our NTC ED Talk series, in which Eddie Eames, Director of Marketing, discusses the results of the Utility Dive survey, including:

  • • Who should be responsible for energy-related education?
  • • What are utilities biggest challenges?
  • • How effective are the programs implemented by utilities?
  • • How well are utilities measuring ROI in regards to their residential programs?

Our NTC ED Talks – modeled after a certain series of educational videos that utilize direct address and accompanying graphics – are produced in-house at our Minneapolis studio. We keep it simple by featuring one of our skilled professionals in front of a green screen, allowing us to incorporate informative graphics and reiterate information visually. Check out other ED Talks on our blog, NTC Connects.
