Pat Rowan
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I am not Ward, nor will I attempt to be Ward. I have learned many valuable lessons from Ward over the past 24 years and appreciate the working relationship and friendship we have cultivated over the years, but at the end of the day, I’m Pat. The same person that staff has reached out to, in good times and in bad times, for better or worse. The same person who toured many times on the road, performed in specials, produced TV episodes and videos, built sets, props and costumes, auditioned 1000’s and hired 100’s of actors, been on sales calls, pitched our services in board rooms, changed lightbulbs, fixed toilets and hammered out issues in strategy and staff meetings. The same person who has supported this company and our clients’ goals the past two decades.
My first time working for NTC was as an actor at the WI State Fair, on behalf of WI Energies in the summer of 1998, which then turned into a 12-week AEP tour in the Fall of 1998 and many other tours followed. During these early, really fun experiences, I realized, and saw firsthand the important impact that NTC’s programs have in in the lives of kids and their families. The connections I made in the schools, in the communities, with my tour partners and with this company for so many years ago was truly unique. Understanding the impact of what we do is still what keeps me energized and excited to come to work every day.
I come from a long line of educators – my parents, grandparents, cousins, mother-in-law and wife are all teachers. That, combined with my background and experience in theatre and communications, has helped me grow and evolve, to ultimately be responsible for the operational aspects in producing NTC educational programs.
As the new President, I intend to lead this company from a pragmatic point of view, with clear intentions, communication, humility, collaboration, consideration, common sense, creativity and comradery. I take great pride in the work we do, just like everybody else here. I’m passionate about the challenges we face, proud of the many accomplishments we’ve achieved, and learned from the missteps and mistakes we’ve made.
Now, as we move ahead, I look forward to continuing this journey with you all and keeping NTC as the world’s largest K-12 educational touring and livestreaming content company that teaches, entertains, and inspires.
